Interests
What I Am Involved In
University oF Cincinnati marching band
As a member of the marching band, I play the Alto Saxophone. I am the Alto Saxophone Section leader in a saxophone section of around 40 people. As a member of the band, I have performed at the Cotton Bowl, Fenway Bowl, DCI Finals, and in Cairo, Egypt
Bearcat Solar Car
I have been a part of the Bearcat Solar Car Team since close to its inception. Now a more mature club, we are finishing our first car and are in the design and manufacturing phase of our second car.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics engineers
As a member of IEEE, I connect with engineers in their fields and attend professional and skill development seminars. I am able to connect with upperclassman and others in similar majors to mine and network.
I am also President of IEEE Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) at UC, where I focus on honoring high-achieving students in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science
Robotics
I coordinated with team members and mentors to design and fabricate a “Battlebots” style robot for competition, placing first at the Xtreme Xbots Competition in 2019. I managed cost and time use during the build and analyzed robot design and competition strategies for further improvement post-competition.
Being new to robotics and CAD design, I used my experience on this team to develop these skills, plus add skills such as operating CNC milling machines and designing the electronics.
Engineers without Borders
I work with the UC chapter of Engineers Without Borders to work with the rural communities of Nyambogo, Roche, and Burere in Tanzania to build and maintain water infrastructure.
Currently, I've been working in the Roche sector to develop plans surrounding the repair or rebuilding of the existing water tower in the community that supplies the local health center and the surrounding community.
Photography
Outside of my school-related clubs, I have developed a passion of photography, specifically documenting the beauty of the nature in the everyday world. My skills are self-taught alongside my brother. Photography allows me to connect myself to my community and take time to appreciate the world I have around me.
